The "Dual" series is finally here. These pieces of art are not necessarily beautiful. Instead, what I want to express through them is critic visual meaning.

You´ll see that there are four groups (or kinds) of photo-manips, corresponding to "Pedestrian Environment", "Idolatry executants", "Commercial Idols" and "Urban Landscape".
I created these categories in order to explore the different parts of what I wanted to analize, which is the city and its subversive messages.

Hope you get the message and, as always, any form of critique is very welcomed!

Hello folks! I decided it´s best to tell what´s going on in my art life, so here I am writing... There´s this huge project I´m working on (presentation day: tomorrow), titled "Dual". It´s for my Visual Literacy class, but it has more of a personal intention. It´s about showing how the social reality bears two faces, in all aspects: lack versus excess of wealth, intellectual versus material poverty, the natural versus the artificial, originality versus the lack of it, etc etc etc!

I had to go on at least 3 photo shoots to get the proper material. On top of that, I had to collect images from the media. The result is a set of 16 digital collages (with some intervention with ink and marker), an art book (which was a pain in the ass to make), a display box with smaller versions of all the images, and a plotted mural (100 x 30 cm) of the best collage.

I hope it sounds like a big project because it was actually a huge effort. I have to finish today... maybe at 4 AM??? hehehe

This journal entry is dedicated to both of you guys. I`ll let you know how we can further contact through a note. I hope you can check my gallery a bit. You`ll see that I`m quite experimental and, even though I have a strong preference for colorful, bright shots in high contrast, I have experience with other styles! Adobe Photoshop is an essential tool for me, and I know how to use it quite well. You`ll see I`m quite fond of photomanipulations. However, I have a lot of respect for more "pure" photography, and strive not to over-retouch pictures (it`s difficult sometimes...)

I`m on holidays, so I have lots of free time to share knowledge (and pictures) with you.
